Sustainable Agriculture

WOCSUF's Sustainable Agriculture program recognizes the critical role women play in ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture practices. Women farmers and entrepreneurs are the backbone of Uganda's agricultural sector, yet they often face significant barriers, including limited access to land, technology, and markets. This program empowers women to adopt sustainable agriculture practices, improve crop yields, and increase their incomes.

Through training, mentorship, and resource support, women gain skills in climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, and sustainable land management. WOCSUF's approach emphasizes the importance of women's leadership in promoting sustainable agriculture, recognizing that women's empowerment is critical to achieving food security and sustainable development. The program focuses on promoting sustainable agriculture practices, including organic farming, conservation agriculture, and agroforestry. By adopting these practices, women farmers are improving soil health, reducing deforestation, and promoting biodiversity. Moreover, WOCSUF's Sustainable Agriculture program fosters partnerships between women farmers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote policy and regulatory frameworks that support sustainable agriculture practices.

By empowering women farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture, WOCSUF is contributing to a more food-secure and sustainable future for Uganda. The program's focus on women's leadership and empowerment is critical to achieving sustainable development and promoting environmental justice.
